British Library and Baker Street

So I started out my day today getting up way too late. I then went to the British Library, which is this huge imposing building right by King's Cross. I got my reader card, and then requested a notebook that was owned by William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones. Thirty minutes later, I had it in my hands. It was so awesome to be able to handle the book and see all their sketches and notes. The best part is, if you know what you want, you can do that with ANYTHING in the British Library. It's extraordinary.
I then took a wander down Euston Road past Regent's Park to Baker Street. There were a bunch of tourist trap shops right near Baker Street. It's a tragedy though, I have yet to find a union jack bandana. They have thongs, and towels, and boxers, and bags, and tshirts, but no bandanas! Then I went to the Sherlock Holmes Museum. Well, I went to the shop. I was not about to pay 6 pounds to see a room decked out in victorian furniture that was never inhabited by the fictional character because he is fictional! But I did get a few things in the shop. :)
I walked to the Marylebone Tube Station, which was really cool and old. I took the Bakerloo line south, and then hopped on the Victoria line to get back to King's Cross. However, a train was stuck at King's Cross, and we sat at the platform for about 5-10 minutes. That does not sound like a very lond time, but when you are packed like sardines into the car and it is so hot, it was not pleasant. We finally got moving, and then had to pause again. I finally made it home though, and Laura and I went around the corner for some really excellent fish and chips.
I have just spent about the last hour or so working out how we're getting to Stonehedge tomorrow. I think I finally got it squared away.
