Oxford and the countryside, Part III

Our last day we ate breakfast again at Queen's College and I ran over to see if that shop was open. It wasn't and I was tragically sad. I felt really sick again, though more achey, fever, and runny nose. We got on the bus and headed out to Chipping Campden, this little village that Ashbee had set up a craft guild in at the turn of the century. We got to go into the workshop of these silversmiths (the Hart family- fourth generation). It was really awesome. We then wandered up to a 17th century church and then into the little museum they'd set up in an old barn. During our lunch, Eve and I wandered around and picked up some fruit for out lunch. I got some blueberries, a nectarine, and a grapefruit and picked up an egg and cress sandwich to go with it. The fruit was SO DELICIOUS! We also poked into this used bookstore that was amazing. There were so many things I could have bought, but I ended up settling on this five pound copy of a London detective's memoirs.

After another bus ride, we got to the Cheltenham Gallery. While we were waiting for everyone to use the WC, I got entranced by the handcrafted jewlery they had there and ended up buying this beautiful silver ring with three purple stones in it. It sorta reminds me of lilac or wisteria. Then we went into the gallery where there was a ton of Gimson furniture and other things. I had to give my presentation on him. It was awful because on top of my normal nervousness was the fact it was really hot in there and I had a fever. But it worked out fine. We left the Gallery after a while and headed back to London. We finally arrived back at the good old HPH after close to a 3 hr drive. After a quick dinner of chicken and chips, I came back to my room to unpack.

Now I have a weekend ahead of me with a paper due monday. Yippee.
